Norah studied Protestant Theology, Philosophy and German Literature in Münster and Berlin. She received a Bachelor of Arts degree in German Literature/Philosophy and a Master of Arts degree in German Literature from Humboldt University of Berlin.
In her master’s thesis “Von Hexen, Dämonen und Besessenen. Volkssprachliche Translationen und Transformationen von 'De Praestigiis Daemonum'”, she examined Johann Weyer’s famous anti witch-hunt treatise (2nd ed., 1564) and its first two vernacular translations by the reformed theologian Johannes Füglin (Von verzeuberungen, 1565) and Weyer himself (Von Zauberey, 1566) in the context of the early modern academic debate about the value of the vernacular. Her research was supported with an advancement award by the Erhard Höpfner Stiftung and the Berliner Wissenschaftliche Gesellschaft. During her studies at Humboldt University Norah worked as a tutor and student assistant at the department’s chair for Literature of the High Middle Ages.
