Rebecca Weingart

Rebecca is interested in Yiddish women’s poetics, critical translation, and the aesthetics of silence. She is also a translator of Yiddish and German poetry and applies digital methods to the study of literary translation. Her translations have appeared in journals including Hopkins Review, Harvard Review, and Grotto Journal and have received support from the Yiddish Book Center, the American Literary Translators Association, and the Regional Arts Commission of St. Louis. At WashU, she co-edits TERN journal and is a member of the AI Humanities Lab, where she investigates the relationship between poetic style and translation.
